The results can be used for compliance determinations when acceptable to a regulatory authority using performance based criteria. 1.1x00a0;This test method covers the individual determination of total fluorine, chlorine and sulfur in aromatic hydrocarbons and their mixtures. Samples containing 0.10 to 10 mg/kg of each element can be analyzed. 1.2x00a0;This method can be applied to sample concentrations outside the range of the scope by dilution of the sample in an appropriate solvent to bring the total concentrations of fluorine, chlorine and sulfur within the range covered by the test method. However, it is the responsibility of the analyst to verify the solubility of the sample in the solvent and that the diluted sample results conform to the precision and accuracy of the method. 1.2.1x00a0;Special considerations must be made in order to attain detection limits below 1.0 mg/kg in a sample. The instrument must be clean and properly maintained to address potential sources of contamination, or carryover, or both. 简介:The test method is designed to predict the deposit-forming tendencies of engine oil in the piston ring belt and upper piston crown area. Correlation has been shown between the TEOST MHT procedure and the TU3MH Peugeot engine test in deposit formation. Such deposits formed in the ring-belt area of a reciprocating engine piston can cause problems with engine operation and longevity. It is one of the required test methods in Specification D 4485 to define API Category-Identified engine oils. 1.1 This test method covers the procedure to determine the mass of deposit formed on a specially constructed test rod exposed to repetitive passage of 8.5 g of engine oil over the rod in a thin film under oxidative and catalytic conditions at 285x00B0;C. The range of applicability of the Moderately High Temperature Thermo-Oxidation Engine Test (TEOST MHT ) test method as derived from an interlaboratory study is approximately 10 to 100 mg. However, experience indicates that deposit values from 1 to 150 mg or greater may be obtained. 1.2 This test method uses a patented instrument, method and patented, numbered, and registered depositor rods traceable to the manufacturer and made specifically for the practice and precision of the test method. 1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. 简介:1-1本标准规定了在285℃的氧化和催化条件下,用8.5g发动机油以薄层油膜的形式反复通过一根特殊结构的试验棒,然后测定棒上生成沉积物的方法。实验室间的研究发现,适度高温热氧化发动机模拟试验(TEOST MHT)的适用范围为lOmg~100mg,但经验表明,当沉积物质量在1mg~150mg或更大值时也可适用。1-2本标准采用了具有专利权的仪器、方法以及获得专利、编号并注册的沉积棒,通过编号可以追溯到生产商,这种沉积棒是针对本试验方法的用途和精度专门制作的。1.3本标准采用国际单位制[SI]单位。1-4本标准的使用可能涉及到某些有危险性的材料、操作和设备,但无意对与其使用相关的所有安全问题都提出建议。因此,用户在使用本标准之前应建立适当的安全和防护措施,并确定相关规章限制的话用件。

简介: 5.1x00a0;The total fluorine, chlorine and sulfur contained in aromatic hydrocarbon matrices can contribute to emissions, be harmful to many catalytic chemical processes, and lead to corrosion. This test method can be used to determine total sulfur and halogens in aromatic hydrocarbons and their mixtures. The results can be used for compliance determinations when acceptable to a regulatory authority using performance based criteria. 1.1x00a0;This test method covers the individual determination of total fluorine, chlorine and sulfur in aromatic hydrocarbons and their mixtures. Samples containing 0.10 to 10 mg/kg of each element can be analyzed. 1.2x00a0;This method can be applied to sample concentrations outside the range of the scope by dilution of the sample in an appropriate solvent to bring the total concentrations of fluorine, chlorine and sulfur within the range covered by the test method. However, it is the responsibility of the analyst to verify the solubility of the sample in the solvent and that the diluted sample results conform to the precision and accuracy of the method. 1.2.1x00a0;Special considerations must be made in order to attain detection limits below 1.0 mg/kg in a sample. The instrument must be clean and properly maintained to address potential sources of contamination, or carryover, or both. Multiple sequential injections shall be completed until a stable background is attained. A stable background is considered to be achieved when the analysis of a minimum of three consecutive system blanks have area counts equal to or less than 5 % RSD for the anions of interest. 1.3x00a0;In determining the conformance of the test results using this method to applicable specifications, results shall be rounded off in accordance with the rounding-off method of Practice E29. 1.4x00a0;The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.
